Benedict Cumberbatch got word last December that JJ Abrams wanted him to audition via videotape for a role in the much-anticipated Star Trek sequel, The New York Times reports. Only problem? Cumberbatch was vacationing in England at the time, and couldn’t locate anyone to properly film his tryout.

Here’s a weird article where the focus was on the iPhone, and the writer most probably had no idea who Benedict Cumberbatch is. Sherlock was NEVER mentioned in this. WTH. This is, of course, surprising especially because it’s from geek and Web fandom-friendly Mashable.
